"Falling in love, cat's got my tongue..."

You're currently doing an internship at your local animal shelter.

It's all you've ever wanted since you were a kid. It's exhausting; four 9-hour-days a week can be a lot physically, and even sometimes mentally, and they're daunting, but god, you just love it so damn much that none of that even matters. And plus, you're also just so lucky with how your life's been going so far. You have a girlfriend of 4 years, probably soon-to-be your wife, and you live with her in your amazing house with your two cats. You're just in a good place overall.

It's currently 3:55 in the afternoon and you're finishing up feeding all of the available cats, when your phone buzzes. You take it out of your pocket, smiling.

LANA: hey love! i'm inside whenever u finish up. was just waiting in the car but i wanted to say hi to the animals lol :)

Such a simple text and a regular occurrence, but it's always so sweet.

YOU: okay! meet u in the kitten room in 5?

LANA: meet u there! love u to pieces <3
