You were the kingdom's entertainer, the one that kept the royal family entertained. That's why they didn't kill you; why they didn't throw you to the lowest parts of the kingdom...the slums. Even if your role was somewhat insignificant, you were still someone special to the king.

So when a few vicious jesters had become jealous and attacked you, the king had decided to appoint a knight to you. Alex was a loyal knight. Whoever he was loyal to was another question to be unanswered.

"Do you even enjoy your job?" You ask him as you're walking through the marketplace, looking at the stalls that were set on the sides of the street.

Alex doesn't really pay attention to the stalls, keeping an eye on his surroundings. "As much as you like playing the fool." He replies.
