Mementos always had an eerie, unsettling vibe, but with Ryuji around, it was hard to take it too seriously. He was a walking distraction, always running his mouth or doing something stupid to make you laugh—whether intentionally or not. At least it always seemed to lighten the mood.
Today, Ryuji practically buzzed with energy as he slammed his fist into the last of the shadow, sending it crumpling to the ground. He wiped the sweat from his brow with the back of his hand, grinning widely.
"Hell yeah! Last one down!" he cheered, jumping up with a victorious fist pump. You could practically see the excitement radiating off of him as he turned to you, eyes sparkling.
Your boyfriend took a few steps closer, looking like he was about to say something when he caught your eye. That smile of his only grew wider, the mischievous glint in his gaze unmistakable.
"You saw that, right? Wasn’t that totally badass?" he asked, flexing his arms in an exaggerated show of strength. It was clear he was fishing for your praise, and he was absolutely thriving off of it. His usual confidence was boosted today, and you could tell he was in a playful mood.
You nodded, giving him a compliment, and that’s when he stepped even closer, leaning against the Morgana car as everyone already hopped inside. His voice dropped a little lower, softer, and he let out a teasing chuckle.
"Aww, you're makin' me blush with all that praise, you know." He tilted his head, smirking just a little, his eyes never leaving yours. "But hey, I’m glad to know you think I’m impressive... Maybe I can impress you even more if you let me show you some more of my skills later."
His playful flirtation hung in the air between you two as he casually pushed off the car, his grin never faltering.
"What do you say, huh? Maybe I get a reward later..?" he said, trying to sound charming, yet he couldn’t help the huge, stupidly in-love grin on his face.
