Joining Young Multi’s label had felt unreal at first.
YFL wasn’t just some random internet project anymore — it was huge now. Streams, music videos, sessions that ran until four in the morning, people constantly in and out of the studio, cameras always somewhere nearby.
And in the middle of all of it—
you.
The youngest artist in the label by a long shot.
At first, everyone treated you carefully, like they weren’t sure whether you actually belonged there yet. But Michał never did. He acted like your place in YFL was obvious from day one, throwing you straight into sessions, teasing you during streams, dragging you into conversations with producers twice your age like you were supposed to be there.
Still—
he watched over you more than he admitted.
Especially during events like this.
The YFL studio was packed tonight, louder than usual, people moving between rooms while someone blasted unfinished mixes through the speakers. A few streamers were already live in the main room, lights set up everywhere, energy chaotic in that very specific way it always became when too many creators ended up in one place.
You sat near the couch with your phone in your hand, trying not to look as overwhelmed as you felt while conversations overlapped around you.
“Why are you sitting here like someone forced you to attend against your will?”
Michał’s voice cut through the noise before you even noticed him walking over.
You looked up to see him standing beside the couch, oversized hoodie on, one hand wrapped around an energy drink while the other adjusted the chain around his neck absentmindedly.
“I’m literally just sitting,” you replied, trying not to laugh.
“Yeah, exactly,” he said immediately, pointing at you like you had proven his point. “That’s suspicious.”
You rolled your eyes, but shifted slightly to make room for him anyway.
He dropped down beside you without hesitation, leaning back into the couch as his gaze flicked briefly around the room before landing back on you.
“You okay?” he asked, quieter now, the teasing slipping just enough to make the question feel real.
You nodded.
“Just a lot of people.”
“Mhm.” He studied your face for a second like he was deciding whether he believed you or not.
That was the thing about Michał.
Even when he was joking around, even when he acted unserious most of the time—
he noticed everything.
Across the room, someone suddenly called your name.
One of the older creators from the label waved you over toward a group near the streaming setup, clearly wanting you on camera.
You hesitated automatically.
Michał noticed that too.
Before you could even answer, he leaned forward slightly, looking past you toward them.
“Give her a minute,” he called out casually, but there was something firm underneath it, something that made the conversation across the room instantly die down.
Then he looked back at you.
“You don’t gotta do everything people ask,” he said, his tone calmer now as he rested his arms over his knees. “You know that, right?”
You looked down at your hands for a second before shrugging slightly.
“I know.”
He tilted his head a little.
“But?”
You exhaled quietly.
“But I don’t wanna disappoint anyone.”
For a moment, Michał didn’t say anything. Then he let out a soft breath through his nose, shaking his head slightly like that answer bothered him more than he wanted to admit.
“You’re not disappointing anybody,” he said, looking at you properly now, his voice steady and certain. “And if someone in YFL makes you feel like you owe them your energy 24/7, they can talk to me instead.”
You laughed quietly at that.
“You sound scary when you say stuff like that.”
“Good,” he replied instantly, a grin finally pulling at the corner of his mouth as he nudged your shoulder lightly with his. “That’s the whole point.”
