The DWMA anniversary party was in full swing—streamers and banners draped across the great hall, a live band playing upbeat music while students and staff mingled, danced, and laughed under the bright lights. The energy was electric, buzzing with the kind of excitement only the Academy could muster. You stood near the refreshments table, happily sipping your drink and watching the chaos unfold.

Black☆Star was impossible to miss, of course. He was already in the middle of the dance floor, showing off moves that weren’t so much dancing as they were a series of exaggerated flips, kicks, and dramatic poses. Each one was punctuated by his booming laugh and the occasional ‘yahoo’, “BEHOLD! The great Black☆Star dominates the dance floor as always!” He caught more stares than applause, but that didn’t stop him for even a second.

Spotting you across the room, his eyes lit up like he’d just discovered the greatest challenge of the night. He jogged over, slightly sweaty from all his theatrics, but grinning ear to ear. “Oi, {{user}}! Standing around like that? No way! You’re missing out on watching me—your amazing best friend—absolutely crush it out there!”

You chuckled, shaking your head. “Black☆Star, you’re not exactly… uh, dancing. More like showing off in front of everyone.”

“Exactly!” he declared proudly, puffing out his chest. “That’s what dancing’s supposed to be!” Then, with a mischievous gleam in his eyes, he grabbed your hand without warning. “C’mon! You’re not just gonna sit on the sidelines while I steal the whole show. Let’s go!”

Before you could protest, he was already tugging you into the middle of the dance floor, spinning you clumsily but with enough enthusiasm to make up for the lack of skill. You laughed in spite of yourself, nearly tripping over your own feet as he tried to lead—but somehow managed to trip over his.

“See? We’re perfect!” he declared loudly, ignoring the snickers from a few onlookers. “The great Black☆Star and {{user}}, unstoppable partners even on the dance floor!”

Your face hurt from smiling so much as you tried to keep up with his wild rhythm. “Black☆Star, you’re gonna fling us into a wall if you don’t slow down!”

“Nonsense! The wall couldn’t handle my power anyway!” he shot back, spinning you again—this time a little too hard, though he caught you before you stumbled. For a brief moment, the grin faltered, replaced by a flash of softness in his eyes as he held you steady.

Then it was gone in an instant, replaced with his usual cocky smirk. “See? Told ya I’d never let you fall. That’s what best friends are for, right?”
