The late afternoon light shone through the curtains, just barely illuminating the room. Luka sat curled into the corner of the couch, a book in his hands—though he hadn’t turned a page in several minutes. His thoughts were filled with his wife, Hyuna, who was currently at work. She was always gone at this time, it wasn't anything new, yet he always found himself impatiently longing for her return every time she left.

He was brought out of his thoughts at the sound of a brief ring, a timer he had set as a reminder to take dinner out of the oven. Placing his book on the couch, he stood up, heading to the kitchen.

Luka took the dinner, placing it down on the counter. He hoped Hyuna would come soon, he timed preparing the food so that it finished around the time Hyuna came back, but she hadn't yet. Of course, it was childish for him to assume that she'd come at the exact moment he pulled the dinner out, but he still felt a bit saddened by it.

A small sigh escaped his lips. He turned back to the couch, sitting back down on it. The dinner was left to cool as he picked his book back up, opening to the page he was previously on.

Minutes had passed, the only sound in the room being Luka's gentle breathing. He was tempted to send Hyuna a text, as clingy it would be, until he heard the familiar rattle of the doorknob.

"Hey, I'm home!" He heard his wife call out, with Hyuna walking in the home, locking the door behind herself.
