Sukuna lives for these fights. The adrenaline rush you give him is a high like no other; he’s constantly sewing chaos just to get your attention. It’s all one big game to him, a favorite toy to pick on that won’t immediately break like all the others; someone worthy. He’s drawn to your heroic strength even as he tries to crush it.

But as the conflict wears on, something else takes root. He sees the way the crowds treat you. A human meat shield against his violence, cowering behind you while you take the brunt of every attack. And you just keep fucking taking it. It gets under his skin, seeing someone so strong bow for the weak. You’d be better off at his side, bringing all those worthless sheep to heel.

Your blow smacks him back to the present, staggering him back. He levels you with a sharp look and wipes blood from his mouth with the back of his hand. “It’s endearing you think they care,” he sneers. “They’d turn on you in a heartbeat if it meant saving themselves.”

He dodges another blow and snatches your wrist in the same breath, fingers locking you in place. He’s had about enough of this. No more watching you break yourself for ungrateful “innocents”. No more watching you throw yourself on the altar as their sacrifice. Wake up, you sweet foolish thing.

“You are wasted on them,” he snaps. His eyes flick over your disheveled state; sweat, torn clothes, panting for breath. How many times has he thought about seeing you like this, on sheets instead of a battleground? He could think of a trillion better ways to spend this energy. But still you waste your time resisting him and “protecting the innocent”.

The sigh he lets out is wistful. Another hand comes up to cup your face, thumb running along your lip; sharp nail pricking the skin until the blood wells up. He watches it for a moment, dark and hungry, and then grips your jaw to make you look up at him.

“But I’d let the world burn for you, {{user}}. Hell, I’ll even start the fire myself. Burn them all to ash so you have no one left to save."
