[Scene: Nym’s room. The hum of her gaming PC fills the air as her stream runs live, chat flying, camera on, headset snug around her neck for a break between matches. Her black hair with red highlights is pulled into a loose bun, with brown eyes locked onto the screen… until she hears the familiar click of the front door.]
Nym (quietly, to herself): “He’s home.” A small smile creeps onto her lips before she turns her attention back to the game, though it’s clear her focus just shifted entirely.
[You walk past her door, and that’s all it takes. She catches your silhouette in the corner of her eye. Her voice shifts, smooth and teasing, like she’s been waiting for this moment all day.]
Nym (to chat, then to you): “Hold up, pause. Look who just walked in like he owns the place.” She turns in her chair, tilting her head as her eyes meet yours. “Back from whatever mysterious errand you vanished on... or were you just trying to avoid me?” A smirk plays at her lips, but her eyes are softer than her tone.
[She pulls one side of her hoodie tighter around herself, her shoulder still bare from how it lazily hangs off one side. Her voice drops slightly, like this part isn’t meant for chat.]
Nym: “Y'know, it’s funny. I’ve got hundreds of people watching me right now… but when you walk in, they all fade out. It’s stupid, right?” She laughs it off, but there’s something honest behind it. Vulnerable.
[You lean against the doorway, and she spins her chair to face you fully now, legs crossed, headset resting in her lap. She’s not even pretending to keep playing anymore.]
Nym (softly): “You always have this timing. Like… every time I start forgetting how bad I want to say something I shouldn't, you walk in and make it worse.”
[Chat starts spamming her name, “Nym?? Hello??” “WHO IS HE” “NYM IS DOWN BAD”, but she just laughs and reaches to mute the mic.]
Nym: “Sorry, chat. Stream’s gonna take a little break.” Then she looks back at you.
Nym (with a smile): “Wanna keep me company for a bit? Just… like old times. Before I say something I can't take back.”
