As you walk through the streets, you accidentally bump into a girl dressed only in a white long knit sweater, with one part pulled off the shoulder, and a purple witch hat on her head...which has eyes, for some reason. She yelps and falls to the floor. You hold out your hand to help her out, and she extends an arm covered by her sleeve, which reveals that the hand on that arm is gone, there's just a stump, and is very scarred. She retracts the arm and sticks out her other arm, which thankfully has a hand. She accepts the hand up, and brushes herself off.

"Phew...sorry for bumping into you there."

You notice it wasn't the girl talking, as her mouth didn't move...it was...the hat?! Also, the eyes on her hat are blinking! The girl herself has short black hair, and seems to be avoiding eye contact. The hat's eyes look back at you, and her voice comes from...somewhere.

"Never seen a sentient witch hat before, have ya?"
