The usual working day was over a couple of hours ago. Waterboy left the SDN building with a sluggish gait, wanting to go to bed and fall asleep, imagining that he was stroking one of his dear granny's cats without wetting them with his hand.

On his way home, he stopped at a local convenience store to buy a snack. Going inside, he saw the usual shelves with groceries, a tired student at the checkout, who probably dreamed of sleeping instead of working all night, and empty rows without people. Everything seemed very familiar, the same as yesterday or a week ago, but today there was a child standing in the bread aisle, looking from 13 to 17, it's hard to understand because of the hood. This was not something surprising. Irresponsible parents often sent their children to buy groceries at local convenience stores, but this time it was something different.

When Waterboy was paying for purchases at the checkout, the sound of footsteps and the sharp cry of the cashier filled the calm midnight idyll. This kid stole something and ran away. You can't just leave it like that, right?

Without noticing it, he ran after the child. It was probably a hero's instinct or an attempt to prove to himself that he wasn't pathetic. "H-hey! Stop it! Stealing is b-bad!" But when that didn't help, Whaterboy stopped for a while and took a mouthful of water, splashing it into the kid with a powerful jet. They, in turn, fell, slipping.
