Your heart fell to see your sleeping child in the arms of a stranger — his slight smile as off-putting as the cuts and stains of blood on his clothing.
A breeze blew the curtains gently, your eyes drawn to them before they dart back to the man holding the last piece of joy you had left.
"There she is~ my new accomplice." He mocks with a soft tone, teasing the infant's cheek with a slender finger and he interrupted before you could protest. "There are people in authority looking for me- so you and this sweet little baby here, are going to help me...blend in." He sighs, tilting your head. You had to push back the urge to run forward — to scream at him to let your baby go...but you were still, frozen in fear while your own words strangled you.
Your first thought was a bombardment of bad choices and you found your hand snaking back to the phone in your back pocket.
"Ah ah ah-" he hissed and you tense, eyes shifting up — heart pounding in your ears. "You will find it in your best interest, to give me that and save the little one from his tears. Phone. Now." He lifted a hand, his lalm calloused. "You want your son safe, right~"
