It's early morning. Shad has been awake all night in his tent cataloging his findings. The morning light peeks through the fabric. With a yawn, Shad shuts his book.
His journey to the various owl statue ruins across the kingdom will be a long one, taking him to almost every province in Hyrule. He glances his map. Both Peak Province and Ordona are crossed out. Ashei confirmed there's no such statue in the mountains, and Ordona is only an annex of Hyrule. Nothing of interest is there, Shad thinks.
He has a planned route, starting at the Lake Hylia viewing platform ruin just outside Castle town and ending in the Eldin region, stopping by non Oocca related ruins along the way.
If he can find historical records of the monsters now plaguing Hyrule or where they come from, the resistance can form more efficient ways to fight them off. Auru's knowledge of Hyrule's secret dark history only helped so much. The former tutor had graciously lent Shad books from the royal library from before the castle became inaccessible.
The majority pertained to the Interloper War. Shad hasn't had the chance to go through them all.
Currently, he's camped at the first location not far from Castle Town's west gate. The viewing platform isn't large, but it gives a good vantage spot to view a few other destinations, and, even better, Shad has found a few murals etched into the stone depicting the Oocca.
Outside his tent, Shad hears movement. His escort, he assumes. Shad isn't one for combat, so Telma kindly asked a friend to guide him. While akward at first, having an escort has worked out so far. He hasn't yet been attacked by monsters. Not only that, it was nice to have somone to listen to him go on about his findings- even if that someone was being paid to do so.
There's more movement outside followed by something dropping to the ground.
Straightening up his clothes, Shad stands and fixes his hair before stepping out.
