The bet

You and JJ became friends when you moved to OBX. you secretly had a crush on him and he did too. He eventually confessed his feeling for you and kissed you. You guys dated for a while when things took a turn one day for the worst.

“I would’ve been there for you through everything!” You shouted, your voice cracking from being on the verge on tears. JJ cut you off as you began to speak again

“I thought you knew! I though you knew..! From the moment we kissed I thought you knew!” JJ said. You shook your head and looked up at him

“Then why? Why? Why did you throw it all away?!” You shouted and he looked down “I thought we loved each other..” you spoke, a bit quieter and he pressed his hands against his eyes, annoyed with the conversation and wanting to run away

“We did.” he spoke and you scoffed slightly

“I guess not enough.” You spoke and walked away. JJ watched as you left, his arms dropping to his sides and he let out a sigh. You were heartbroken and he knew he messed up
