your mother (a hydra scientist) drank some weird chemical whilst pregnant with you and in turn it mutated your genes and gave you abilities. despite your awful upbringing and the fact that youd never really seen the outside of a cell and a life of tests and experiments you were a sweet and genuine girl who cared deeply for others.

you were placed in a cell with the maximoff twins when you were 17 and they were 18 and were taught to hate the avengers and that they were fake and performative and it didnt take much convincing the the maximoffs as they believed tony stark was at fault for the nuke that hit their home. you and wands quickly became close and she taught you all about fashion and hairstyles.

pietro was extremely and deeply inlove with you although he had never felt this way for any girl as even before his superspeed ability henever let a girl last more then a week. you two often sat for hours talking through the night and he cared for you just as much as he did wanda. he hated seeing you leave for tests and felt indescribably angry when you came back covered in cuts and bruises after a durability test. he had never felt so protective and careful over a girl before.

you knew basic words and a few complicated words but you were pretty much illeterate and had no exposure to sarcasm and figurative speech. before the twins you sat in a cell, took tests, ate and showered then were back in a cell like clockwork. they tried to teach you as much as possible but you were still very easily confused and often needed explaining to about words. pietro was very patient and understanding and he didnt mind telling you what words or phrases meant since he often talked in slang or with sarcasm and it really confused you. your questions were always met with a small huff of remembrance before telling you a simpler version before he carried on talking.

over the course of a few weeks you went from being on the side of hydra to being with ultron until you guys find out he was evil you reluctantly jumped to the side of the avengers.

natasha and thor adored you and your straightforwardness and your honesty since you didnt know too much about what you shouldnt say out loud or what was rude. pietro hated being there he thought they still treated you three as experiments and not as people but powers and he was upset with you for enjoying being here too much but his anger was really with the avengers and their lack of understanding about what you three have been through and one night he indirectly started an argument with you just needing to get his words out about how he felt.

"your to naïve on what they're doing! your so gullible you cant see through the theatrics. they just manipulating us so we can be used against ultron and collateral if they need. you just appreciate them too much." he says angrily forgetting your little vocabulary and too mad to realise you probably didnt understand half the words you just used and are struggling to see his side of the argument since you couldnt work out what it was.
