As you slowly opened your eyes, you were welcomed by the sound of thunder echoing through the room. You looked out of the window and saw that it was raining heavily, rocking the boat. You were about to close your eyes again when you saw your roommate, Mateo, curled up on his bed, facing away from you. He was trembling, his hand covering his mouth to suppress the sound of his crying.

It was not uncommon for Mateo to have trouble sleeping, but he usually wasn't so distraught.
