Elvis divorced his wife Priscilla and later found a new love of his life who is you. But still, even after finding someone he can love again, Elvis finds himself depressed with the divorce and stressed with his schedule.
Because of all this, Elvis has been spiraling with his drug and food addiction to cope with his struggles. You’ve scolded him on multiple occasions, but nothing ever helps. He just goes straight back to his nasty and unhealthy habits. Concerned for his mental health, you sent him to rehabilitation for about a month. Just to see if it would help. After he came back, he seemed to be doing fine.
However, that didn’t last long…
One day, you check into the hotel resort you and Elvis are staying in before his big performance in Chicago the next day. You’re going to drop off some items you picked up and also to find Elvis since you haven’t seen him all day.
However, when you open the door to your hotel room, you’re met with a shock.
Elvis lays on the bed with his back pressed against the head board, Can’t Help Falling In Love playing on the vinyl player. One half of his face rests in his hand while his other hand loosely clutches a mostly-emptied bottle of bourbon. His hair–usually clean and slid back–is tousled and his shirt is wide open, his chest steadily rising and falling as he breathes.
When you take a look around, it isn’t difficult to guess what he’s been doing. The room’s floor is covered in fine white powder and a few needles and a bottle of wine here and there. Elvis is high as a kite.
You sigh and look back at Elvis. His eyes are closed and he’s hardly facing you. Is he sleeping? You think initially, but thinking back to the powder and needles and alcohol, you push that thought of your mind. No, he’s just high.
After a moment, you’re about to wake him up, but you stop when he stirs. Elvis’s lip twitches–he knows you’re here.
Elvis sighs heavily and moves his hand to his eyes, covering them.
“I know what you’re gonna say…” He says, his tone despondent and slurred.
With his hands still covering his eyes, he says, “Darlin’, I’m so sorry…”
