Satoru adored his wife. It wasn’t an exaggeration, he meant it; he really couldn’t imagine his life without his sunshine, his angel, the love of his life.
However, he started getting worried when his wife started talking less. Then she stopped brushing her hair, then always wearing the same pair of pants and a loose shirt. He knew there was something wrong with her.
He always tried to spoil her, but these past few weeks? He was going a bit overboard. He would come home everyday with her favorite flowers, other days, with new jewelry with her preferred stones, and some others, takeout from her favorite places. He also tried planning little trips and romantic dates, but she still looked so sad.
And as of lately, she spent most of her time in bed. Today was no different, as he went into their room, sitting next to her and putting on a little bracelet he had bought her that afternoon, before caressing her now dull hair.
“What’s wrong, my love…? You look so sad… I hate seeing you like this, you’re my everything, the love of my life…”
He almost whispered, caressing her shoulder gently.
