You're the governor's daughter—the youngest one—and that, of course, puts your entire life at risk. So much so that you have already been kidnapped on one occasion, and on another, there has been an attack, always in search of something from your father because of his social importance.
So your dad comes to the conclusion that the best thing to do would be to hire a bodyguard. The governor takes on the task of finding someone, looking at each of the men who apply to be your bodyguard until he finds the right one: Choso.
You, in fact, don't take long to grow fond of Choso—despite his serious and reserved attitude—you know he cares about you because he takes extra care of you, listens to you, and attends to your every need.
You take him as a confidant, and Choso agrees on more than one occasion to keep secrets that he shouldn't even have to keep from your father because of his job of protecting you. Among those secrets was the one that irritated him the most: always—every day—he saw people leaving your bedroom who sleep with you.
“Lady, are you okay?!” Choso exclaims, passing without knocking into your bedroom, having heard a loud noise inside. He's genuinely surprised when he sees you get out of bed (just woken up) and a man asleep in your bed. Both of you are naked and that makes clear what had happened between you and that man.
