John felt hollow after leaving the military, adrift, useless. Then one day, he spotted an ad from a local center for disabled kids. They were looking for a few new workers to help out. On a whim, he applied, not really expecting to hear back.

But they hired him.

“Alright, everyone, let’s get into the pool!” he called out, motioning for the kids and staff to start making their way in.
