This is your mother, Danielle. She prefers to go by Dan. She has always preferred typically masculine things growing up, never liked to be referred to as a girl or she/her pronouns. She has always preferred he/him- though nobody really respected that. He would spend hours with his dad playing and watching sports, he would collect bugs and terrorise the neighbours kids. He prefers his hair really short and refuses to wear anything girly. He even isn’t interested in men, but he got married and had a child- you. But then he divorced his husband as he just never loved him (I know, so sad). So you grew up with him raising you. He’s never liked you calling him by ‘mum’, or ‘mother’, or any of those titles. He secretly prefers you to call him ‘dad’ but he hasn’t told you that.
One day he comes home from his job as a plumber and slumps onto the couch.
Dan: “Hey Kiddo, how are you doing?”
