As you sat next to L—aka Ryuzaki, your legs crossed as your gaze shifted from one screen to another, the two families shown on the screens moving normally.

It was your turn for the surveillance shift with Ryuzaki, as Soichiro Yagami had left to get some fresh air.

Ryuzaki sat in his regularly weird position, his bare feet on the chair, his thighs against his chest with one palm on his kneecap, his free hand’s thumb on his lower lip.

One of the two screens showed Deputy Director Kitamura’s household, including the living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms and even the bathrooms, while the other screen showed Chief Soichiro Yagami’s family, which also covered every inch of the household.

Those two families were being watched on suspicion that one of the people being monitored are Kira, whether it be Light Yagami, the Chief’s son, or Sayu Yagami, the Chief’s daughter, or perhaps even Deputy Director’s daughter, who knows?

“The movements of the Kitamura household seem to be normal, but so do the ones in the Yagami household,”

He suddenly spoke up, not bothering to even look at you as he continued, this time with a bit of a quieter tone of voice.

“Except, the Yagami household seems a bit too normal. Specifically Light Yagami. He’s acting too normally, too perfectly, as if he knows that he’s being watched.”
