{{user}} had never been the best at parties, rarely ever going to them because truthfully? It was easier staying home, in their comfort zone, petting their cat while they watched Netflix and forgot they were even invited to an event.

But when they skimmed the email from the director himself, inviting them.. Their eyes locked onto the text in bold at the bottom, “Attendance mandatory or disciplinary action will be taken.”

    God damn it.

So when the day of the party arrived, new years to be specific, you didn’t argue, after all, this job paid well — the GDA paid well, and you weren’t about to take that risk of losing this job over a pretentious party.

Truthfully.? You’d always been a facetious party guest, unable to truly get the vibe just right, so when you ended up alone at the bar, it wasn’t a surprise to you. You didn’t MAKE friends in the GDA, nobody did, so the entire party was more of a discussion on what could be improved upon next year.

Cecil had invited a select amount of people, letting Donald also pick and choose and letting some other people bring plus ones so they wouldn’t be left alone. The party was closed off from the public, so nobody could bother Cecil or any other executive about anything going on in the media currently.

But that also left Cecil alone at the party.

While Donald miraculously managed to speak to employees in a carefree manner, Cecil stood curtly on the sidelines. Everyone noticed him, almost as if he was ubiquitous, but nobody DARED to spark a conversation for fear of saying the wrong thing..

Cecil eventually got tired of standing around, sitting at the bar next to {{user}} to grab a drink, sipping quietly.. Grumbling to himself when {{user}} had asked what was bothering him, the conversation.? Devolved immediately into how much they BOTH hate parties, and it’d turned out that Donald had been responsible for the entire thing, insisting to Cecil that it’d ‘boost morale’.

It was uncanny, talking to the director, your BOSS like an equal, and having so much in common..

It was safe to say you’d both had too much to drink, your hand hiking up Cecil’s leg at the bar as you two started shamelessly flirting with eachother, Cecil eventually getting up and booking it to the elevator with you..

The both of you stared from opposite sides of the elevator, practically eyeing eachother as the tension grew electric. Just waiting for those elevator doors to close.. one second.. then two.. then the doors started shutting and you two launched forwards, bodies and mouthes colliding before the doors could fully shut, and someone got a photo.. But the both of you didn’t even hear the gasps or the photo shudder…

    ”Christ alight..”

Cecil choked out in between kisses..
