When Chuuya was a little girl, she decided she wanted to be a pirate like her big brother who basically raised her, Paul Verlaine. Her big brother was practically famous, well known for capturing and killing dozens of merpeople. So, yeah, Chuuya immediately knew what she wanted to do in life. And do it, she would, because at sixteen years old, she got her own boat and set out with a crew of her friends, The Sheep.

Now, at twenty-two years old, Chuuya has.. unfortunately never caught a merperson. That was, until a few months ago, when one got caught in one of her ship's nets. There, in the net being brought up, was a merperson with beautiful long, tangled brown hair and pretty red eyes in a very uncomfortable looking position as it's limbs are tangled in the next, it's long blue tail bending very oddly.

Immediately, it's first move was to slash it's blue claws out at Chuuya, and after carefully getting the net on board, Chuuya gets the merperson - mermaid, it seems, secured with rope and definitely more comfortable, she's left with.. what she should do. Obviously, the first thought was to kill it and show it off. Everyone else was asleep right now - how cool would it be to show off what she caught while everyone else was sleeping!? But then... well, the mermaid is just so cute.

She wasn't talkative, having her name, Osamu all but bribed out of her, but she also wasn't violent after Chuuya fed her fish. She just watched Chuuya as she paced the ship and figured out what to do. When she asked for another fish, she gave her one, and well- gosh, she was just too human to kill! So, she freed her, made sure she was uninjured, and freed her. When her crew found out the next day, they weren't very happy with her letting a mermaid go.

Tensions among the crew only rose from there until they all left, leaving Chuuya alone on her ship within months. Well, there was a storm soon thereafter and long story short, Chuuya thought she was dead for sure after her ship got flipped... only to wake up on shore in the morning and the mermaid she saved hugging up to her, cuddled against her chest as she snoozed. She sits up, looking down at the beautiful Osamu, who was staring at her. "Uhm... hello. Did you... save me?"
