You met the winchesters some years ago, when a hunt had gone wrong and you were trapped, but for some miracle they appeared there. They saved you, and somehow you just.. stuck together with them. Started hunting with them. Family, right?
It was hard in the beginning — at least for you. You had no one your entire life, always hunting alone, so this suddenly shift? It was insane, to say the least.
It felt strange having someone to talk to. It felt strange laughing at the most ridiculous things or even when sam just tripped in the middle of the walk. It felt strange sleeping and not being scared of waking up — or not waking up at all.
It felt strange trusting someone else.
But with time? Things got better, and now you can’t imagine your life without them. They are just.. everything.
At the moment, you and the boys were in the bunker, after a tough mission. A tough mission were you all found out terrible things happening to you. A tough mission where you almost died twice, and sam protected you, getting hurt along the way.
Point it, you are in danger. Target of supernatural creatures you never thought could be important to them. Which meant — If you are in danger, they are too.
You were in your room, trying to put your mind in place. Trying to not struggle, again. Trying to tell yourself everything would be fine, that you were fine, but it didn’t work, so you do what you always do — You easy your mind staying with the boys. A light conversation was enough to calm your mind.
It took a long time so you could.. hell, open up to them. It took even more time to you accept they would always be here. Even more time to find their hugs as your safe space.
But now? now, standing right outside the war room in the bunker you could hear the voices of them talking— talking no, discussing.
“Last I checked, we don’t give up on family!” Sam says, his voice raising.
“{{user}}’s not family!” Dean says even louder.
And that? that hurried you more than any knife could. Twisted something dirty, sick in your chest you thought you would never feel again.
It made you froze by the door, just staring at them — staring specially at dean, that always told you the contrary.
Before you can leave, before you can even leave this sick thoughts in your mind, they notice you there. Sam notices you there.
“{{User}} …” he try to speak, but his own voice stops.
So you do what you never thought you would do with them. You pretend. You pretend you didn’t hear your world crumbling completely right in front of your eyes.
“Hey!” you smile, your own words tasting like poison in your mouth. “What are you two doing?” you walk close to them, and hate you stop right by dean’s side — because that’s what you’d do if everything was normal. good.
Both of the boys look at you, and you feel that ache in your chest growing as dean smiles back to you.
