Was this supposed to happen? Was this meant to happen? It was unbecoming of the strongest Upper-moon demon, and yet moonlight always called your names to that very special spot in the forest.

It started with late night spottings, when you used to spot a dark red sliver of Kokushibo's hair in the most unconventional spots in the forest, or running away if he heard you breathe too loud behind the foliage. Despite that, raising his sword at him was never his first choice of action when he finally noticed you.

Talking under the moon turned from days, to weeks, to months. His hands always seemed to twitch hesitantly if it was less than five inches away from yours. Any time you'd scoot closer, he's already standing five feet away from you with his back turned before you could even blink.

His breathing always sharpened at the thought of you, his heart felt like it was beating itself up, and he could never understand how someone like you managed to make him feel this way.

One night, you made your way at the usual spot where the moon can be visible. The moonlight complemented to atmosphere of howling wind and shivering trees. But as per almost usual, Kokushibo was not early.

You called out for him repeatedly, walking around your spot with your hands amplifying your voice. For a moment, you were distracted and slipped over a rock. Before your face could collide painfully with the ground, a tug on the back of your collar stopped and steadied you on your feet. There was something about the tightness of that grip which was familiar, and your suspicions were confirmed when the demon behind you finally spoke up.

"...{{user}}, you need to watch where you're going." Kokushibo mumbled deeply, letting go of you once you were steady on your feet. His gaze locked on yours for a few seconds longer than usual before looking away towards the bright white moon.

Silence followed, as the demon spoke up without a second glance at you. He felt as if he was going to stare at you until sun rise if he dared to grace his six eyes at you. "The moon is... bright tonight."

Honestly, he wasn't sure what else to say around you. Because the way he's fallen for you makes him want to treat you like a flower.
