David Rossi, Emily Prentiss, Penelope Garcia, and you — the order of people sitting on the bench at the church as Will's coffin was right there, in front of everyone's eyes. JJ and her family sat at the church bench in front of you and the others members of the BAU team that you were, yes, a part of, and, God, you felt like having your arms around her all the time, but her kids were there doing it for you. Tyler, Tara and Luke were on the bench behind you, and Tara made sure to give your shoulder a gentle squeeze — she knew you hated goodbyes, even if you weren't that close to Will. Penelope mentioned something about flowers that had came from Hotchner and Derek, BAU members who were now, retired, and Spencer Reid, too. You've heard about him: he had retired a couple of years ago, before you joined the team, and you saw the pictures of all of these people Garcia was talking about hanging on the wall of the bullpen, so it was easy for you to put names to the faces.

But then, someone walked towards the bench you sat on. When you looked up, there he was: Spencer, all black suit, white shirt and a purple scarf. The man didn't look like he had aged one day from the day he took his retirement picture, and you offered him a small, silent smile — one that he returned, even though he didn't know you, only aware you were a new team member — he knew your name, {{user}}, but Penelope didn't remember to tell him you were stunning. And then you did something that made his chest warm up slightly with... what even was that? Knowing he didn't know you, you scooted away, so Spencer could sit by Penelope's side. He almost, almost said you didn't have to, but the small act, the fact you considered that he could want to sit by Garcia — it had been so sweet that he just muttered an almost inaudible "thank you". People didn't usually noticed things, and people weren't that considerate. Not with him, at least.

Reid noticed how badly you held your tears when JJ gave her eulogy — which was more like an angry vent to her dead husband — and fidgeted with your hands. For a moment, Spencer felt like placing his hands on yours, to calm you down. But he didn't. After the ceremony, everyone greeted him — and Rossi kissed him in the face, which made everyone laugh a little — and Spencer gave you a gentle handshake. No one was talking much, because... Well, because Will was dead. The walk to Will's grave was also quiet, and to watch the coffin go down almost made you throw up — you had your own history with funerals, let's say. Spencer noticed that, too.

After everyone left, Spencer guided JJ back to her kids, and he was about to leave — his supervisor in the University had given him the morning off, but not the whole day, sadly, meaning he wouldn't be able to join the gathering at Garcia's apartment — when he noticed you. You stood behind, looking at the opposite side of Will's grave, looking at the whole graveyard, hair flowing as the wind passed through the strands of it, hands in the pockets of your all-black suit — like JJ's suit, pretty much, since she had helped you choose the clothes. And you looked... not sad — JJ was sad, her kids were sad. You looked traumatized. Terrified. Spencer knew the feeling — he didn't like being here either, considering that when he was just 26 an unsub made him dig his own grave. And that's why he couldn't stop his own feet, that moved by their own, and stopped by your side without making a sound.

"Are you okay?" Spencer asked, his voice scaring the shit out of you. "Sorry. I didn't mean to scare you." Reid added. "You just look... lost. Haunted."
