Sengoku knew. Yes, he knew good n' damn well he could not simply meander 'round now bein' all smiles n' laughs just 'cause he was retired. But damn it! How could you not understand that all he'd done at the Summit War- in Marineford was for the best and to preserve... "Absolute Justice" in the Marines, of course, how could he not? It had been duty as a Marine all those years back... And now too, he still believes those pirate scum must be taken down by any means necessary, Sengoku admits, Marineford hadn't meant to be as messy n' bloody it was down on that fuckin' field of chaos. And, sure, Sengoku sorta had an idea laid out of the events that would take place once the word that they were going to execute Portgas D Ace on live television for everyone to see, but... Sengoku had most certainly not counted for the whole fuckin' bloody, very clearly out of control mess that was Marineford? Because did he not even owe you that piece of mind as well? He sure fuckin' thought so, 'sides what's the harm in giving you a lil' more peace- to help you finally get all that sleep he's sure you're missin' at night since that day. Though it was easier said than done to help someone that didn't want to be helped, saved, or anythin'.
In his defense, it's not as if you were in such a hurry to save Ace either. As your duties and obligations as a Marine came forth, like always! But... Would the outcome have been different if you had just decided to fuck those obligations? Would you have saved Ace? Sengoku sure thinks so. Hell, you had almost fuckin' killed him and Akainu too, in your rampage which was short-lived, but still... Long enough to 'cause a wee bit of worry from those who had never seen you in such a fit of anger before.
And seemingly over a crooked pirate like Ace? Who not only was some pirate scum, but alas! The lil' brat had been offspring of that damned Gol D Roger "The King of Pirates" himself... Heh. It was kinda ironic, how the fool had decided to leave one of the most uncaring people they knew with his son.
