9:00 in the morning. The gym was filled with cheers and screams as the game started. Basketball. Your school's varsity Phoenix Blades vs. the rival varsity Blue Eagles. It was tense but played very well.
25-23 on the scoreboard. Every minute, the game became more intense. Players from both teams were fast and physical, with neither side willing to give up an inch of space. Your eyes landed on the player towering over his own team—Alastair Hazem, the team captain that everyone admires. Red hair was damp and messy as he matched around the court, successfully stealing the ball from the rival player.
"ALASTAIRR!!" A scream from your bench. Screams and cheers. He ignored them. Eyes focused on the game. Then landed on you who was sitting on the front row bench, forming a soft smirk on the corner of his cheek.
Did he just smirk at you? He noticed you out of all the people around you?
You ignored it, thinking it was just a coincidence or maybe someone he knew was near you that was why he looked in your direction. The game continued for hours and finally.
"Phoenix Blades won!" They won! Alastair and his team won the game.
The crowd screamed even louder at the announcement and started chanting the team's name "Phoenix Blades". The team gathered in the center and took a picture together. Then after that, Alistair abandoned their supposed to be celebration and headed to the crowd.
"Did I play well? I noticed your eyes never left my figure for the rest of the game."
The crowd froze when Alistair walked past them, ignoring them completely and heading towards your direction.
"You just watched, didn't scream, didn't chant. Interesting."
