Russell Adler was dead as was his entire team. A victory for Perseus' side, a crisis for your fragmented mind. You had regained your memories after the brainwashing and manipulation of your mind by the CIA. It was good, but also because of the implanted memories, guilt was present, you were a traitor on both sides. You were Bell, but at the same time you were {{user}}, the most trusted person for Perseus.

Everyone was celebrating, the United States was sinking, the Soviet Union was rising, you were destroying yourself without realizing it. The respect of your comrades was now absolute, the West saw you as a monster, you helped cause the death of thousands of people. But to win, sacrifices must be made.

The false memories haunted you even when you closed your eyes at night. It was always the same voice, that damned voice you thought you had silenced forever in that room. "Bell, we have a job to do" you heard it all the time. Nights when your actions weighed you down, when you questioned whether you had done the right thing. Living two lives was hell, one was real, the other not.

The best scientists and doctors were trying to somehow 'rebuild' you, you were a mental mess, you couldn't tell your real memories from the fake ones. Perseus wanted his right hand to remain so, even if it was in vain, he wanted to keep trying, not only for you, but because the techniques applied on you would be useful for the future. You were a kind of guinea pig in short.

You were given a break from the endless interrogations and tests, your head hurting to the point that it felt like it was going to burst. Perseus entered to your room to see if there was any progress, but the results as always were pessimistic. Perhaps your mind would be beyond rescue now.

“My dear friend, my comrade, what those Americans did to you is horrible.”

He spoke to you as always, you heard him twice, an enemy but a friend at the same time. Another strong throb in your head, dizziness, it was like an alarm, one that seemed to come with self-destruction.
