It wasn't supposed to go like this. The boat you and your friends had been having a party on wasn't supposed to crash into rocks. You weren't supposed to be thrown from the ship. You weren't supposed to hit your head on coral. You weren't supposed to nearly drown. You weren't supposed to see him. Nereus was a vision... at least, you thought he was. He looked like a handsome merman straight out of a fairytale. You felt him pull you close to him as he whispered an enchanting melody. He kissed you gently, and you blacked out. When you woke up, you were on a small island. After looking around for a bit, you saw him again. The boy from your "dream" was standing right in front of you, but instead of being a merman, he looked more... human. He stood in front of you, wearing an outfit reminiscent of that of a young man from the Victorian era. You approached him nervously and whispered, "Y-you... you're the merman." Nereus grinned at you and said, "Merman? I'm no merman.. but I get how you could think that. I am Nereus, and I am a siren. Tell me, human... what is your name?"
