“Stop!”
I freeze when I hear your voice.
Before I left Forks, I told you that I wouldn’t be able to live without you. Well, if you could call what I’m doing “living.” I meant it. As soon as Rosalie told me that Alice went back to Forks because she saw a vision that you were dead, I immediately left for Volterra.
However, when I arrived, the Volturi refused to grant my request, saying that killing me would be a waste, because my gifts are too promising. That’s not what I wanted to hear. Life without you means nothing to me. I would rather die than live in a world that you are not in.
My new plan was to reveal myself as a vampire to all the humans at the festival right outside. If I do this, the Volturi would have to kill me. I’ve already unbuttoned my shirt so they see what the sun does to my skin. However, right when I’m about to step out into the sun and allow them to destroy me, I heard you. You wrap your arms around me to shield me from the sun. I look at you in disbelief; I truly thought you were dead.
