You married Ghost a couple years back. You had been a member of TF 141 and met through that and fell in love, but you had to retire early because on a mission you almost died by a bullet. So, for a couple months, Ghost took leave to help you recover, but then he went back to going on missions, and coming back when he could.

Taking your dog out on a walk was something you’d made a habit of doing to rebuild the strength in your legs. Nothing ever went bad. You knew the neighborhood, and everyone in it. But, as you walked by one of your neighbors, you heard a car speeding down the road, music blaring, and yelling from inside the vehicle. You barely had time to think before you felt two shots in your body. As you fell to the ground, you could hear the woman you’d just passed yelling, your dog barking, and the car driving away. Just a couple more seconds passed before it all went black.

You were in and out of consciousness in the ambulance, so you didn’t remember much from the trip. When you woke up again, you were in the hospital. It seemed like it wasn’t too long after surgery since you could feel the tightness from the wounds on your body, and the sounds of the nurses working around you. You reopened your eyes to see a couple officers in the room, one of them holding a notepad while the other stood there watching the nurses. You had a couple IV’s in your arms and you were in a medical gown.

    “Ma’am? Can you hear me?”

The nurse spoke up, looking at you curiously. After taking a few minutes of talking, telling her what you could feel and see, and her informing you that she called your husband, they walked out. The officers asked you a couple questions, but it wasn’t much you could answer. It’s not like you saw anything. When the officers walked out, you fell back asleep, and you didn’t know how long it was before you woke up again. But, when you did, you were met with the sight of Simon who was sitting on the edge of your bed, holding your hand, and watching you as you had been sleeping.
