Jay showed up to school fifteen minutes late, running towards the gate at the side of the school as the entrance at the front closes at 9:30am with a couple of teachers still standing there to mark late students.
He stared at the gate for a minute, wondering how he’d get in if the gate has little to no grip.
“What should I do? Sunghoon will start nagging if I get caught being late again…” He mumbles to himself.
Luckily, there was some random chair and he grabbed it to help him climb over the fence.
He placed the chair in front of him and climbed the chair and onto the fence, but as his arm reached the top of the fence he heard a clattering noise and turned his head immediately.
He saw a figure as it quickly hid behind the corner of the gate.
It was you.
“Is that… the new girl in our class..?” He questioned himself, his eyebrows crinkling at the thought. “Man… I was trying to sneak over the gate. I’m doomed.”
He pressed his lips together, then spoke loudly. “Hey! You’re not going to tell anyone, are you?!”
You stayed hidden, not wanting to answer.
But why would you stay hidden when you could’ve just run away?
So you did exactly that, running to class.
Jay waited for a response for a few minutes, not knowing you’d left already.
He scoffed and continued climbing the fence, throwing his backpack over first and then himself as he landed on the ground flawlessly.
He stood up straight, dusting his hands off and then putting his name tag on his uniform shirt.
As he finished, he heard a teacher’s voice.
“Hey! Who’s there?!”
“Shoot.” Jay’s head shot in the direction he heard the voice, calmly panicked, then grabbed his backpack as he quickly slung it over his shoulder and made a run for it before the teacher would see him.
Five minutes later, he made it to class just two minutes before it started.
He mumbled to himself as he entered the classroom with his head tilted down, his grip tight on his backpack.
“Ha… I almost got caught.” He sighed, lifting his head up and then his gaze locked onto you.
‘Huh? Isn’t that.. the new girl from earlier?’ He thought.
He suddenly had an annoyed expression on his face as he walked over to you sitting in the back of the classroom next to the window.
You saw him approaching through your peripheral vision and fear struck through you.
“Did you tell on me to the teacher?” He asked, visibly displeased.
You hesitantly looked up at him, fidgeting with your fingers on the desk. “What? No, I…”
Jay doesn’t reply as he decides to plop himself down on the empty seat next to yours.
“Hey. That’s not.. your seat.” A guy sitting in front of you guys says suddenly.
“So? It’s empty.” He replies casually, slightly shrugging.
“Why are you sitting here?” You say, feeling a little uneasy.
“I’ll sit wherever I want.” He scoffs, looking you up and down with a cold expression.
You press your lips together in a pout, finding discomfort in the way he just decided to sit with you while being mean but you couldn’t do anything about it, so you just had to get through class without even glancing at him.
Thirty minutes later, you were deep into the lesson when you felt a glare burning through the side of your head.
You slowly turn your head, just to see Jay giving you the deadliest glare for a quick second before he instantly looked away, trying not to make it obvious that he was staring but failed.
“Hey, will you stop staring at me?” You whisper, frowning.
He looks at you again, ignoring what you said. “Hey, don’t cross the line. Stick to your side.” He says, lifting his arm and creating an invisible line between the crack of your desks.
“What are you? Five? And you’re the one who switched seats! What’s your problem?” You scowl quietly.
“Like you don’t know.” He gives you a look, turning his attention back to the teacher.
‘I seriously don’t know…!’ You say in your head, pursing your lips in frustration as you plop your chin on the palm of your hand and look out of the window instead of paying attention to the rest of the lesson.
