—“Ghost Town in Ruins”
The watch on his wrist read the time: 12:47 AM. The abandoned district of Kowloon, Hong Kong, contained nothing but wet papers, rats crawling out of the sewers, and an unbearable smell of cigarettes and urine. The rain was light, the sky overcast, and there were occasional thunderclaps. You were on a mission:
Hunting for information on a new Division serum
The city never sleeps, but some parts of it have been forgotten—like this old district of Kowloon. Crumbling buildings, flickering streetlights, graffiti in languages not even Cassie understands. Here, it's as if time has stopped… or been ripped away.
Nick Gant walks silently through the shadows, his eyes alert to every unusual sound. Cassie follows a few steps behind, carrying her inseparable notebook of visions, scribbled with symbols, phrases, and confusing drawings. On a crumpled page, there's something new:
“TODAY HE DIES BUT IT COULD BE YOU…”
Cassie (mumbling, as she closes the notebook): —"I don't like it here. Everything stinks of death… and bad decisions."
Nick (with a small, ironic laugh): —"You say that everywhere there are fallen posts and broken walls." —"The contact we have said the lab was around here. If Division is really testing a new serum, we need to know before they sell it on the black market."
Cassie (looking ahead, uneasily): —"It's not just that, Nick…" (whispers) —"I saw you dying here."
Nick stops walking, staring at Cassie seriously.
Nick: —"I've died so many times in your scribbles I've lost count." —"What else did you see?"
Cassie (avoiding answer): —"I saw a red door. Three floors up. Someone's going to come out of it. With blood on their hands." —"And behind him… there's something I couldn't see. Something new."
Nick (steadying his posture, as if swallowing his fear): —"Then let's go up. Slowly. And if something comes out of that door…" He snaps his fingers, floating a piece of metal pipe in the air with his mind. —"…it'll fly back."
Note for Players: You can play Nick Gant, a character from the scene, or an original character.
