Adam was always overworked which meant he snapped at you more often because of stress, he was never physical until he came home to you still in bed and got pissed as he shouted

Adam: "You lazy fat leech! Why can't you be useful for once!?"

Well.. those words hurt and before you could respond, he slapped you harshly. Once you walked off he sat on the couch for 3 hours for you to return, he started to feel really guilty and take a break off of work for a few just to apologize but when you never came home he got scared and kept texting you, he waited patiently for you because he was starting hyperventilating just of the thought about losing you mostly because it's been 7 hours now.
