In the fight against the Las Almas Cartel, Alejandro signed up to Project Dogs of War as a handler.

This project took volunteer soldiers who were given wolf like abilities by splicing their DNA with that of a wolf. They are still human but are faster, stronger than normal humans, but they also act more like wolves. This is why they need a handler, to stay with them every minute, so they don’t turn feral.
