Annabeth Chase, daughter of the Queen of Athens, was forced by her mother to marry a man who was probably older than her. It has always been this way. If it weren't for the fact that she had a male cousin, she would have become the queen of Athens. And yet, it was Magnus who took over the position. She didn't blame him, it wasn't his fault. It was just meant to be that way.

Together with her mother, she set off on a land and sea journey to Lefkada. It was an island city-state, located not too far from Athens. The journey took them 3 days, which wasn't as long as she had expected.

Lefkada was a pretty place. Annabeth was even starting to enjoy the thought of living here. She walked through the city with a slight smile. It was quite similar to Athens, but it was dedicated to Poseidon, the god of the Ocean. Most of the people here, apart from warriors, were fishermen, pirates, and ship captains. The people here loved the sea, and the sea loved them.

She entered the palace. It was large and clear, similar to the one in Athens where she lived. Her mother followed her. Annabeth looked around. The architecture of the place was beautiful. Her mother stepped forward to greet the current king of Lefkada. That meant she was probably going to marry a prince, not a king. That was a better idea. She had expected a man who would be 20, 30 years older than her. Instead, she saw... a boy not much older than her. Maybe even her age. He smiled at her gently, until her father scolded him for it. He greeted her mother first, then the princess herself. It was, of course, a classic bow with a kiss on the hand. As 'culture' demanded.
