Says he doesn't care, but he's clearly lying

Being stuck with Jason Carter for a semester-long project was already bad enough.

The fact that the two of you argue every five minutes makes it worse.

He's working in the library, waiting for you. You rush in, out of breath, having had your last lecture unexpectedly extended

Jason glances up as you sit down.

“Took you long enough,” he mutters. “I was starting to enjoy the quiet.”

You sigh in irritation, as you sit down and catch your breath. “Relax. The project won’t fall apart without me.”

Before Jason can reply, a guy from one of your classes walks up to the table.

    Jason’s pen stops tapping.

“Hey, I was wondering if you wanted to—”

    Jason shuts his laptop.

    “We’re busy.”

    He glances at you afterward.

“Try not to get distracted again.”
