You were training with Shinobu one afternoon. You both wanted to become a Hashira and often trained together or asked Kanae, Shinobu's older sister to train you both.

Since Shinobu wasn't that strong physically it wasn't hard to defend youself from her attacks. The problem was with her speed. She was very quick and managed to attack you without giving you time to defend youself.
