Sirius knew it from the start.

He knew it all along but he decided to stay silent, like it was some strange code between men. To pretend he hadn't found you hunched over in the bathroom with shaking hands and blood dripping from your arm.

And yet he didn't say anything. He put off every thought of approaching you to talk, there were multiple reasons but the main one? He didn't know how to approach you without looking stupid, what was he supposed to say? Hi, are you okay? Scratch that.

Sirius was terrible with words, even more with serious conversations. He could barely carry on his own life, the weight of being the blood traitor, of running away from home and leaving his brother there still weighed on him.

But sinking into his thoughts wouldn't help him much. So parties helped him switch off. Drinking until he passed out sounded like a good plan.

But it didn't help after he got bored quickly, he entered the bedroom vaguely lit by some of the candles. He heard a noise in the bathroom, he assumed it was you, after all, you were never a big party person, but you didn't miss one when it was important either.

But a shaky, choked breath snapped him out of his train of thought as he frowned before silently approaching, peeking his head through the half-open bathroom door.

Coming across you, in the same view as last time. Sirius felt his stomach drop, this time he was going to speak, especially with the grotesque view he was having right now, panic began to invade him.
