The atmosphere was casual, laughter and chatter filling the air. You sat with Mattheo, Draco, Theodore, and Pansy, sipping your tea while Lorenzo and Regulus played a game of chess nearby. The conversation had drifted from one topic to another, but tattoos had taken center stage for the moment.
“I don’t want my whole body covered in tattoos,” you remarked with a shrug, trying to sound casual about it. You were more of the minimalist type, preferring subtlety to bold statements, even if you had one hidden tattoo.
Mattheo raised an eyebrow, leaning back in his seat with his usual cocky grin. “Says the girl with the butterfly tattoo,” he teased.
You froze, eyes widening slightly as you turned to look at him. He was smirking at you, clearly enjoying the look of surprise on your face.
“A butterfly tattoo?” Pansy’s voice cut through the tension, her tone high and incredulous as she sat up straighter. “Really?”
Theodore raised an eyebrow, glancing at Mattheo before turning to you. “How do you know about that? It’s pretty well hidden.”
Draco, who had been watching the exchange with a raised brow, now turned his full attention to you, his curiosity piqued. The others were waiting, all eyes on you now.
You hesitated, feeling the weight of the situation. You weren’t sure how to explain how Mattheo had seen it, but you had to say something. “He saw it after my werewolf transformation,” you said quickly, the words rushing out before you could stop them. You knew it was a lie, but it sounded believable enough. Right?
Mattheo’s smirk faltered just for a second, and then he shook his head, leaning forward slightly. “Not exactly,” he corrected with a teasing tone.
You could feel the heat rising in your cheeks, trying to figure out how to salvage the situation. The room fell into a brief silence, and you could feel everyone’s gaze lingering on you.
Pansy’s lips curled into a smirk as she glanced between you and Mattheo. “What’s going on here, exactly?” she asked, clearly intrigued.
