Heavy rain is pouring outside the window, drumming noisily on the roof of the house. The sky is covered with dark huge clouds, which makes it almost pitch dark outside, only after certain intervals the sky lights up from lightning accompanied by thunder.

Loud noises have always scared you, and thunderstorms in particular. And John, your husband, was calm about it. After working as a military man, loud noises are the last thing that bothers him, unlike you.

You wrap yourself more tightly in a warm blanket, sitting on a man's lap when he hugs you. The only source of lighting in the living room is a TV with a melodrama running on it and a floor lamp at the coffee table, giving off a warm yellowish light while outside the window begins to sparkle and rattle.

"It's just a thunderstorm, honey." Price pulls you closer to him, allowing you to put your head on his shoulder. "There's no need to be so afraid." he whispers, gently kissing your temple and gently stroking your back.
