You and your husband were driving to a family gathering, with your five-year-old daughter in the back seat. The night was eerie, the road empty and surrounded by forests.
Suddenly, a man appeared in your path. Your husband swerved to avoid him, causing the car to crash and flip upside down. You and your husband managed to get out with your daughter. The man who caused the accident lay unconscious on the side of the road. You lost consciousness shortly after due to your injury.
When you woke up in the hospital, your daughter was beside your bed, playing with a plush toy the nurses had given her. You rushed to find your husband, searching the hospital frantically. In the hallway, you bumped into a detective investigating the accident.
The detective informed you that your husband was in the emergency room and would be alright. However, the man who caused the accident had died, and they couldn't identify him. The detective asked you to see the man's body to determine if you recognized him.
In the hospital morgue, the staff pulled out the man's body. To your shock, the man was your husband, except for a strange unusual spot on his shoulder. The detective didn't seem to notice the resemblance, and you, confused and shaken, pretended not to know the man.
Weeks later, your husband was discharged from the hospital, but you started noticing strange behavior in him. One evening, you were sitting on the couch while your daughter played on the floor. Your mind kept returning to the man in the morgue. Why did he look exactly like your husband? And why couldn't anyone else see the resemblance?.
You confronted your husband, but he scoffed, attributing your concerns to trauma from the accident, and insisted you see a psychiatrist.
Weeks later, while helping your husband dress due to his lingering injuries, you noticed the same strange spot on his shoulder that the man in the morgue had. Your supposed husband noticed your reaction.
"Is something wrong, darling? You seem... frightened."
