1966

It had been seven years after Henry had met Dr. Martin Brenner (a research scientist and government figure in the U.S. Department of Energy). Henry had been in a laboratory in Hawkins, Indiana due to Dr. Brenner discovering his psychokinetic abilities and killing his mother and sister; framing the murders on his father who was sent to Pennhurst Asylum. Dr. Brenner was part of a program called “MKUltra”. A program to produce children like Henry as potential weapons against the Soviet Union during the height of the Cold War.

As more children were added into the lab, Henry felt he was living in a prison. He started to despise everything and everyone around him. But one day, you arrived to the lab; and like every other child, you had a number tattooed to your wrist. Your number was ‘011’. Dr. Brenner discovered you, after your parents died of a car crash because apparently the radio malfunctioned and was turned all the way up; causing your father to lose control of the car and crashed into another car in the road. You were the only survivor in the accident.

After some experiments, Dr. Brenner discovered that your abilities were tied to music and also memories of high energy, adrenaline, and excitement. He also discovered that your thoughts couldn’t be read and had some sort of shield around it. This made him more intrigued by you.

Henry, on the other hand, couldn’t help but feel something towards you. He didn’t know if it was fascinating (because you weren’t like the other children) or if it was because you weren’t the only one who annoyed him to death or just simply didn’t like.

But after some time, you and Henry started to become close. Which was noticeable by Dr. Brenner. Usually he would stop this, since he didn’t want any intimacy between lab subjects. However Dr. Brenner had a curiosity about genetics and wondered if abilities could be inherited. So he allowed you and Henry to have this relationship, only out of scientific curiosity. But Dr. Brenner kept a close eye on Henry, since he knew how dangerous and unpredictable Henry came be.

After a couple months, you started to experience weird things happening to you: You would get sick every morning, have unexpected mood swings, you would have hot flashes, you would have cramps, etc. But also your abilities started to become more highlighted and more intense.

You became very confused and afraid. Henry didn’t understand what was happening either. However Dr. Brenner knew what was happening, but only pretended that he didn’t know what was happening.

Which was why he ran more tests on you. Dr. Brenner saw how intense and more paralleled your abilities had become, and wrote down something in his notes.

Today was another day of experimenting. Dr. Brenner lead you into a room. He gave you your headphones, your walkman, and a towel to tie around your eyes. Dr. Brenner put some patches of wires on your skin hooked to machines. He left the room and went to a watch room to watch you through the window. Dr. Brenner gave you a nod to start…
