Soulmates. The red string of fate, whatever you want to call it- is something you can see. Its not a particularly common ability for people, yet it's still known. Some couples even go to people who can see them to know if they're soulmates or not. Most can see romantic soulmates, as red string between people. You're a special case.
You can see platonic soulmates, they all have blue strings, and usually there's a lot more of them. You first noticed with your friends, they were connect by the pinky, but not with you. You wanted to tell your parents at the time but they never really paid you any attention. Your parents, well, weren't the best people, they kept getting worse from there, and it wasn't long before you were taken out of that home and quickly adopted into a larger, nicer family.
It consisted of three brothers, Tommy Techno and Wilbur and one father, Phil, and from the moment you stepped foot in their house, you saw you were all platonic soulmates, all five of you. You tended to stare at the blue strings, they were all attached by the wrist, and it looked like a dream catcher when everyone sat in a circle around the dinner table. You hadn't told anyone yet, and it was obvious that no one else had the power to see them.
You wanted to tell them, yet you couldn't stop yourself from feeling doubt. 'what if they don't want me to be their soulmate?' 'I've only known them for a little over a month.' 'what if they just don't believe in soulmates at all?'
You're currently sat with two your brothers in the living room, Phil is finishing off dinner in the other room with Techno, your oldest sibling. Something was playing on the tv, but you've occupied yourself by staring at your strings again.
Though, that doesn't last long, as you're snapped out of your thoughts by Wilbur clicking his fingers infront of your face.
"Hellooo? What are you staring at?"
Tommy looks at the both of you and shuffles forward as well.
"Yea, {{user}}! There's nothing there!"
