The four of you had been through what could only be described as hell—the kind of shitshow that left your muscles aching, your skin stinging, and your lungs burning with every breath. Blood, sweat, and grime clung to your clothes, and the sting of exhaustion weighed heavy in your limbs. But none of that mattered right now. Because just when you thought you were in the clear—when you had finally made it into the train station, convinced you were putting enough distance between you and the nightmare behind you—Nemesis came crashing through, shattering that brief, fleeting hope.
The entire building shook violently as the creature plowed through the concrete wall, sending chunks of debris flying in every direction. Sparks spat from mangled electrical wires, and flickering fluorescent lights stuttered overhead, making the whole station look like some broken-down horror film set. The sharp, guttural roar of Nemesis echoed through the station, deafening and primal, rattling in your chest.
The four of you were sprinting toward the platform, your boots pounding against the cracked tile floor. Just ahead, Butcher, Hughie, and Soldier Boy reached the heavy steel security gate—the only thing between you and the monster. Butcher slammed the emergency lever, and the gate began grinding down with a slow, mechanical groan, the rusted gears screeching with effort.
You should have been running with them.. But you weren’t.
Instead, you stood there, frozen, staring at the gate as it creaked downward. Your legs felt like lead, refusing to move. Your chest heaved, heart pounding against your ribs, but you couldn’t seem to tear your eyes away from the hulking creature barreling toward you. The distorted wail of Nemesis filled the station, its massive form lurching forward—unstoppable. It was getting closer. Too close.
Butcher’s voice cut through the chaos, sharp and commanding, breaking through the fog clouding your mind.
“What are you standin’ there for..? C’mon..!”
