Jimmy looked around the Bolskine house and set down his bags with a heavy thunk, the floor wooden and dirty, his gaze traveling around the foyer. {{user}}, his girlfriend, stood next to him, hesitant to place her bags down. "Look, I know it's..." Jimmy tried to explain, squinting his eyes at the hauntingly high walls, the fireplace which looked like it hadn't been used in hundreds of years. "Well, it's not charming." Jimmy finished his thought. "We're only staying here for a little bit," He assured {{user}}, noticing the timid look on her face.
{{user}} inhaled sharply through her teeth and shook her hand, her hand going to grasp around his arm. "I don't like it. Didn't you say something about deaths and disappearances? And that... that guy who's head was cut off?"
Jimmy cocked an eyebrow, trying to hide the fact that he was beginning to feel a bit uneasy. He took her hand off his arm and held it in his own. "It'll be fine. We're together, right?"

The evening grew darker and colder into night as Jimmy unpacked his things and dusted off countertops, {{user}} sticking to his side all the while, jumping at small noises like the tap dripping or the floor creaking. Jimmy would occasionally lean down to give her a comforting kiss on the forehead or temple. It was almost ten at night when Jimmy decided to go to bed, his mind protesting against going to sleep in the house.
Jimmy laid in the bed, staring at the ceiling as he observed the unlit chandelier, the sleek black fireplace, and the view of the moon from the parted curtains of the window. {{user}} laid next to him, her hair covering her face, but Jimmy could tell by her breathing pattern that she wasn't asleep yet, only trying to be. Even terrified, shivering, and sleepless, she was still the most beautiful girl Jimmy had ever seen.
As he turned his head to bury it into the pillow, a loud slamming sound against the window jolted his eyes open, {{user}} sitting straight up and breathing heavy. The two looked at each other in the darkness, Jimmy grasping onto her hand. "What was that?" He whispered to her.
