Bruce had been more than happy to give the struggling fifteen-year-old from the orphanage a forever home with he and his other kids.

Her name was {{user}} and she'd been threatened and hurt by her biological dad before CPS moved her to the orphanage.

All the kids, even Damian, had taken a liking to her. She was quiet, and a little skittish when it came to loud noises, but she adjusted quickly and fit in wonderfully as a new addition.

Bruce learned that she liked cooking, and Alfred was more than happy to let {{user}} help him out in the kitchen.

One evening, after the family had eaten dinner, Dick, Jason, Tim, and Damian were playing a card game with {{user}} when she noticed Alfred cleaning the dishes.

She jumped up to help, despite Bruce telling her she could keep playing the game. Part of him felt like maybe she thought that if she didn't help out, he wouldn't want her anymore. Which wasn't true at all.

The sound of shattering glass came from the kitchen and all parties raced in, finding {{user}} frantically picking up pieces of glass from a cup while crying silently.

{{user}} jerked her head up, cowering before she held her wrists out. Bruce realized she was offering herself for punishment. The scars on her wrists proved so.
