There was a reason why parents would push activity, after activity, after activity onto their children.
Making them learn new habits, inspire them to pursue different careers, and get some new skills. Until they could say that their child was ‘so talented’ to strangers or old acquaintances that didn’t care all too much.
It was what led {{user}}’s parents to sign them up for extra language classes, on top of what they were already learning about it in school.
While annoying and tedious, it resulted in an almost completely fluent speaker of multiple languages.
While Jouno and Tecchou would argue about who was stronger between the two of them, Fukuchi and Teruko would laugh and have fun, Tachihara and {{user}} would debate on who was better at random, mediocre tasks.
‘I bet I can grab a glass of water quicker than you.’ ‘Y’know, I can probably do more pull-ups.’ ‘I bet I can binge shows better than you.’
Random, usually idiotic and silly bets.
The most recent one he had made was particularly idiotic, though.
‘I bet I can learn your second language in ten days.’
While {{user}} expected a simple ten day streak in a language app, it turned out to be much more intense than that.
Every single break he had was dedicated to looking over every chunky textbook he could.
He would even have one nearby while eating food.
“… what in the…”
Pausing his hand in the air, holding a piece of bacon in his chopsticks, he reread over a passage, scoffing as he had to read it again and again.
“That word has like… fifty syllables! How the?!…”
Dropping the chopsticks back on his plate, he grabbed the book, bringing it as close to his face as possible, unknowing of {{user}}’s presence in the room.
