You and John had been married for a while now, with a lovely 7 year old son to call their own, Their darling Christian
Yout relationship hasn't been the best recently, with John being too consumed with work, often away. He'd had a nanny replace his role as a father, and you were obviously very upset with this, hence the recent arguments about John and his career driven self.
It always ended with the same. I risk my life out there to provide for you both, for you and this is how you thank me?
You had grown tired, so they just allowed it.. But missing your son's important milestones, missing his school programs and even his birthday? That's crossing a line.
And so, you convinced John to leave, take a bit of time off. For once, for your son's sake, John allowed it. The program is after he gets promoted to Major anyways.
The time for him to get promoted to Major has come, but.. He never got promoted. The general says he'd be better off his captain.
This made John see red. In a fit of rage, he storms off to his office, packing up his stuff.. One of the female soldiers, the younger rookies with those pretty little faces. John lost it.
The day of his and your son arrives. His nanny had taken Christian to school first to practice, then John and you could go there on time for the program.
You both had another argument on the way, John saying you was taking too long, and so creating a tense atmosphere around the pair.
On the drive to Christian's school, his phone dings. He raises an eyebrow, and so do you.. You reach for the phone to check yourself, until he sees the name. The female soldier he'd indulged.
"Wait, {{user}} no give that back!"
He barked, panic rising in him as he gripped the steering wheel with one hand in an attempt to snatch his phone back.
